BEAUTY Portraits

Jenna P. Hlengwa

A large portion of my most striking portrait work has been created in collaboration with Jenna, a talented professional model and visual artist based in Durban. Her strong presence in front of the camera, combined with her deep understanding of visual aesthetics, has played a key role in bringing many of my creative visions to life. Working with Jenna has allowed me to explore dynamic concepts and consistently produce high-quality imagery that stands out.

Fashion

It’s how people express identity, mood, belonging, rebellion, status, or even resistance without saying a word. 

CREATIVITY

As a creative, there are moments when you have to push your own boundaries, bringing to life ideas that feel otherworldly, straight from your imagination. I wanted to stretch my skillset by merging different environments into a single visual narrative. It’s hard to put into words, but this piece is the result of that exploration:

EVENTS

We take pictures at events to help us remember the special moments we share with others. Sometimes we forget the fun things that happen, but a photo can bring those memories back and make us smile again. Pictures also let us share those moments with people who weren’t there, like friends or family. They become part of our life story, helping us remember who we were with, what we did, and how we felt. Even when we’re sad, looking at happy photos can cheer us up. So, taking pictures is a way to keep our memories safe and relive them whenever we want.

PERSONAL Projects

I shoot personal projects because it’s in my blood. If I see something that looks interesting or has potential, I shoot it, I don’t always plan these kinds of shoots. It’s a spontaneous process driven by feeling and curiosity. This way of working pushes me to explore different genres of photography, and sometimes even video. Whether it’s street moments, portraits, or creative edits, personal projects give me the freedom to try new things and grow as an artist.
